I really can't believe that Christmas is already approaching. I'm hoping that the timeline here on my blog keeps me aware of the time, as it ticks away slowly. I have to admit....I like waiting to the last minute. I know, it's just not practical with a large family. I always have good intentions, every year, but inevitably I forget something of super importance, that must be purchased days before Christmas.
Wait now...I have an excuse for this lack of metal ability - Birthdays. I have three, yes, three birthdays the week before Christmas. The twins b-day is the 22nd and littlest's birthday is the 18th. O.K. I thought having babies for Christmas was cool, now I'm not so sure. It really is fitting to celebrate birthdays so close to Christmas, it keeps all our minds focused on Christ. We've had to stop doing a birthday cake for Jesus, unfortunately. We just couldn't eat anymore birthday cake! I think one year we did a birthday cookie instead! This year I'm trying to be creative and think of something fun and new. The Christmas holiday is a fun time around here and the kids think it's great to have the Christmas tree up for their birthday parties. Poor Dh's pockets seem a little lighter, but the Lord has provided each year. (God is amazing that way.)
So....I'm trying to plan a little better, spend more wisely this year, and really looking forward to time with our family and focusing on the best gift ever given.
Maybe, just maybe, my new countdown timer will help keep me focused! Atleast...I'm hoping.

WOOHOO! Good girl with the holiday countdown...you can't start too soon, in my opinion.
I know what you mean about the holiday birthdays. My 2nd is on Dec. 9. It is not too late before Christmas, but being just after Thanksgiving and before Christmas makes parties hard because people have neither the time nor the money to spend for a party....INCLUDING ME!!!
