This afternoon we went to a pumpkin patch, provided by the city we live in, where the kids picked these really big pumpkins. I was expecting tiny, little pumpkins, but no. The kids were so happy. M and Em decided that they didn't want to decorate their pumpkins with faces, but the other three did a good job. Of course, MB's is the littlest one. I tried to get her a big one, but she insisted that she carry it herself, and I was totally OK with that. I ended up carrying L's anyway, because it was too heavy for her. Before we left, M dropped his and was allowed to pick a new another. We hadn't bought any this year, so the fact that they all got one and could pick it themselves was wonderful.
I did feel weird when the lady in front of us said that this was her three kids 3rd pumpkin for the year. I wanted to ask why she needed 9 pumpkins anyway, but decided that I shouldn't. We didn't stay long, because it started to rain, but the kids were thrilled to put their pumpkins on the front porch. I hope the neighborhood kids don't take liberty with them....maybe that is why the lady needed 9 pumpkins....just a thought.
