Two Stitches

My oldest son took a trip to the ER yesterday. He was looking for a lost piece of gum, that had fallen in to his Dad's dresser drawer. Jd's drawer had a box cutter in there. We aren't sure whether Ob was trying to cut the gum in half (one for littlest) or if what, but he claims that he put his hand in the drawer because the gum fell in there and something cut his finger. I couldn't get the cut, which was across his cuticle, to stop bleeding. I didn't know how long I was supposed to wait to see if it would stop, so I went in to a panic. I had seven children and I couldn't get Jd on the phone. I thought, how on earth am I going to take 7 with me to the ER? I just kept trying to get Jd on the phone and finally he called! He met me at the ER so I wouldn't have to take all the kids in with me! I am so thankful for a wonderful hubby! He always comes to my rescue! My knight in shining armor. Needless to say, Ob needed two stitches to fix his cuticle and he should be fine. The ER Dr said we did the right thing bringing him in. She said the risk of infection was higher because of the area, but putting the stitches in helps to keep the skin clean. So...all's well that ends well.
