My friend on another blog wrote about a conversation that her sons had in the car the other day, so I thought I'd share the conversation that took place this afternoon while eating McDonald's.
We had a busy morning, shopping for last minute Easter attire, so I stopped and picked up McDonald's. I know, not the most nutritious meal ever, but I didn't get any fries - if that helps any... haha.
We were all sitting at the table eating when Em got the ketchup out for the few that had chicken nuggets. As soon as she squirted it, it made that sound. You know the sound I'm talking about. The sound that we adults aren't supposed to laugh at, right?
So, my boys both start cracking up, because they tend to find body noises very funny, and I shoot them "the look". The look that says, "Give me a break, it was just ketchup" and "Stop" at the same time. They both straighten up and MB says "The ketchup farted." I turned to give her that same "look" and she is staring up at me with the most serious face.
"Well, it did" she says innocently, with her big green eyes. I couldn't hold it together another second...I burst out in laughter, which thrilled the boys, and soon everyone was cracking up! After everyone was done laughing, I looked at her and she said, "I know, I shouldn't have said that werd."
I put the sternest face I could on and said, "That's right. It is not a nice word to use."
How am I supposed to teach her girly manners with those big green, beautiful eyes looking at me like that?! Heaven help me!
