Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
We are hoping for some white precipitation tonight or tomorrow. It would be so nice to see the beautiful blanket of pure white when I wake up tomorrow! I love how everything looks after the snow falls. Have you ever walked out in the snow just after it had stopped or while it was still gently falling? The sounds are so great! Everything is a quiet hush and kids laughing voices are priceless.
I look forward to snow every year, but here, in this part of Va, we hardly ever see any accumulation of the white blanket. We do have a snow shovel, just in case, but over all we are not prepared for cold, wet snow or snowman making. The kids and I were talking today about making a snowman and I assured them that I had a carrot in the fridge just in case! They reminded me that we had not collected our yearly pine cones. Every year we've found one pine cone to represent each member of the family and on the day it finally snows we roll the pine cone in peanut butter and then in bird seed. Then we tie the pine cones out in the tree and watch the birds and squirrels eat from them. To be honest, I thought we weren't going to have any winter precip this year, because it's been so warm as of late. I'm a little upset about that, for if it does come tomorrow, I won't be able to get the pine cones in time.
Maybe I'll have to think of something new to do this year if the snow actually does come...hopefully, my thinking cap will work! If mine doesn't, am sure a couple cutie pies here will think of something to do!
