Wally World

A trip to Walmart today turned into a nightmare! My littlest had a melt down at the checkout. I mean I thought her head was going to turned 360 degrees like in that movie, Exorcist. I've never seen it, but I've been told about it. Here's how it all happened.....

Littlest asked if she could walk at the store. I normally don't allow this since she is only 3, but the store didn't seem very busy, so I agreed telling her that she had to hold oldest's hand. She agreed to the terms of the agreement. She was aware that if she didn't follow the rules she would have to get in the basket. She did well, until we got to the checkout. She started running around and being out of control, so mom followed through and told her to get in the basket. Which, as you can guess, caused a HUGH temper tantrum!

Dora snacks were in the basket and I thought, OK let's give them a try. So, I asked her stop, sit down and hold her Dora snacks. Well, that wasn't good enough and the screaming got louder. She was screaming, "I WANT TO GET DOWN!" I reminded her that if she wanted the fruit snacks she needed to listen and obey mommy. She sat down, but was not quiet. I reminded her again and then she threw, yes threw, the snacks on the floor. Well, my mind was made up those snacks were NOT going home with me. She continued to scream and if I hadn't kept my hand on her she would have thrown herself out if the cart! I think from here time was slower. I kept praying that the cashier would hurry up. We were 3rd in line! 3rd! I'm not kidding when I tell you that she never stopped! I left Walmart with her screaming "I WANT MY DORA SNACKS".

I kept myself under control. I should say, the Lord kept me under control. I did nothing on my own today. By the time we got home she realized she lost that battle and I hope she remembers for a while. I don't want to redo that for a while! I wonder if I need to shop at the other Wally World for a couple weeks! lol
