I am constantly thanking the Lord for this precious creature! I am amazed that it has been 6 months since we found her at the church. It was the weekend before Halloween and it was very dark outside. She was so skinny and small. I just took to her the minute a friend pleaded with me to take her home because she couldn't. I would always beg my parents to bring home strays, but this was the first time I begged my Dh. To be truthfully honest, if I could have seen her in the light, I might have left her at the church or to the mercies of another family. We brought her home and I immediately took her to the bathroom. I started crying when I got a good look at her. She was filthy and covered head-to-toe in fleas. I've never seen so many fleas on one animal before. I was unsure of her age, but I couldn't just leave her like that, so in the flea bath she went. I gave her 3, yes 3, baths in a 36hr period and kept her in the bathroom the entire time (praying the entire time that she wouldn't get hurt from the shampoo). We kept towels under the door and kept using carpet spray outside the door to keep the fleas from spreading throughout the house. To make a long story short, she has made us her family and I don't think I've enjoyed a cat as much as I enjoy her! I consider her a special treat from the Creator of all things to me - little o'le me.
