It seems just like yesterday that daughter #1 entered our lives. Where has the time gone? My Aunt Ruth told me then to cherish each moment, because time will pass quickly. She was right.
I found myself on Sunday holding my breathe as Em shaved her legs for the first time! I know, she'd probably die if she knew I was telling all of the Internet! Luckily, she's at camp! As I instructed her and watched, I fought back the emotions.
I kept thinking: "This can't be my baby!" "Why are we doing this?"
It was our baby. She was really doing this! Afterwards, she was quite happy with her results. She proudly went to church that evening with "numb legs". At least, that's what she told her Nana. Now, let me explain, they were numb from the Veet that she used. I didn't think she was ready for a razor blade, or maybe it was me that wasn't ready for that yet. Remember all the nicks and cuts?
I must admit to all my scrapbooking friends- I had to control the urge to run and get the camera....scrap booking page....nah....Em would not be happy about that!
We have just stepped over a new milestone and I'm not sure I'm ready to watch my sweet baby turn preteen!

Sorry I took so long to respond to your comment about Harry.
The post was a bit "tongue-in-cheek." I do think they are totally bad for kids. However, I LOVE the books and the movies. I seriously had the book ordered and paid for....picked it up Friday night at midnight.
It is a bit of market research, on one hand. You can't recognize a danger when it is disguised unless you know the disguise. YOu won't see a book say, "Hi, I'm witchcraft...I want to turn your children to sorcery." It is so seemingly innocent that it is easy to believe how parents don't pay attention to this danger.
However, as an adult, I have the understanding and the ability to look at stuff and make wise decisions and keep fantasy as fantasy and reality as reality. This book will no more send me to hell than ONLY reading the Bible will send me to Heaven. It is what you do with it.
Some I know are convicted about these books and will not read them. Personally, I have felt no conviction from the Lord. When/if I do, I will heed that call and do what I know is right.
Hope this clarifies.
BLOG SOON!!
