It's been a while!

I was reminded this morning that my blog, well...is "behind the times". Can you believe that? Dh was gently reminding me that it's been a while since I've blogged, like I didn't know that. So...I guess I'll catch you guys up on the goings on here.

The number one thing has been the adoption of a daughter...yep, that's what I said. We haven't adopted her legally, but she's here to stay for a while. It's been nice to have her here and I think when it's time for her to move on to bigger and better things, I'll be sad.

And of course, it's school time! Hurray! We started school this past week and getting back in to the swing of things has been quite a chore. It really is amazing how a schedule makes things run smoother. Chores and school assignments have seemed to calm things down around here. The out of control stuff was driving me nuts! We added more subjects this year since it's our 2nd year at this homeschooling thing.

Which reminds me, I was reading new words with ds #1 and the word was trend. He was doing well, but this word threw him for a loop. As he struggled, the word TURD rolled off his tongue. How do you get from trend to TURD? I laughed so hard that I had tears coming to my eyes! He had no idea what he had said, so he starts asking me "What did I say?" He starts giggling and he doesn't even know what he's just said! Luckily for me, he had said many words trying to figure this one word out, so he was completely unaware of the potty-mouth word he had just said. I think that's what made it so darn funny! Even now, I think it was the highlight of my week! TURD!

I think I'm in trouble...what kind of mental state I am in anyway?
